P.S. The Radiators were real fun, and my teens got to meet some of the band and get autographs.

Ironically, you could have only come to that conclusion by putting a great deal of thought into it...you aren't really a whacko fundamentalist anti-intellectual snob, are you ducats? I thought the DEAD worship hereabouts req'd a great deal of thought...certainly Jerry looked down his nose, as did Phil, at those that didn't spend a great deal of time expanding their minds, and with books, not just drugs. Recall how they felt Brent wasn't really up to snuff as he didn't have a dog-eared copy of On the Road in his back pocket as they did...?

it's a joke boy (what was that roosters name?).

regarding the thought required, remember;

"Now, don't think to hard, baby
Cause you know what I'm sayin"

although I do a lot of reading, I've never finished a book in my life.

I fig'd...I was really just being supercilious to be honest.

And like BD, I can recite Foghorn Leghorn in most any situation, but most appropriately, when feeling supercilious, ya know?

"boy, I say BOY! I'm talkin at ya, but ya just ain't listening...in one ear and out ta-uther!"

Foghorn is a cartoon replica of Senator Beauregard Claghorn who was played by Kenny Delmar and one of the first movies was titled naturally "Its a Joke Son" in 1947. Several other movies were done but Foghorn Leghorn is the most memorable result of all that production. Maybe they have a copy of the film here at the archive?

"...That's a joke, son, a flag-waver! You're built too low. The fast ones go over your head. Ya got a hole in your glove. I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em! Ya gotta keep your eye on the ball! Eye. Ball. Eyeball! I almost had a gag, son--a joke, that is!"
